How the work actually happens.
Five phases, named and timed, on every engagement — one-off or retainer.
Diagnose
3–7 business days, depending on the service.
We read your funnel data, support tickets, call recordings and reviews — whatever reflects the buyer's actual words — and interview the stakeholder who talks to them most. This is the phase most rewrite-only agencies skip, and it's the one the rest of the work depends on.
Position
2–3 business days.
We name the single claim the deliverable will bet on, and show you the reasoning — the objection it answers, the evidence behind it — before writing a word of final copy.
Draft
5–10 business days, depending on scope.
The full deliverable, written against the position, structured and annotated for handoff.
Sharpen
3–5 business days.
One consolidated revision round against your feedback. Built into the price, not billed as a change order.
Report & iterate
Ongoing.
For one-off projects: a short readout once the work has had time to show a result. For retainers: this phase repeats monthly, and is the whole rhythm of the engagement.
Timeline at a glance
| Phase | Duration | What you do in this phase |
|---|---|---|
| Diagnose | 3–7 business days, depending on the service. | Grant analytics access, share support tickets/call recordings if available, give us 45 minutes with your best stakeholder |
| Position | 2–3 business days. | Review and sign off on the claim before drafting starts |
| Draft | 5–10 business days, depending on scope. | Stay reachable for clarifying questions — no action required otherwise |
| Sharpen | 3–5 business days. | Return one consolidated round of feedback, not a trickle over two weeks |
| Report & iterate | Ongoing. | Join the readout call, confirm next priorities |
Four things speed this up.
Analytics access — read-only is fine.
Anything reflecting the buyer's actual words: support tickets, call recordings, reviews, sales-call notes.
One stakeholder who can give 45 minutes, not five people who can each give nine.
Feedback returned as one consolidated round, not a trickle over two weeks.
Process questions
What if we don't have analytics or call recordings?
We work with what exists. Less data means a longer diagnose phase, not a skipped one — we'll tell you upfront if that shifts the timeline.
Can we speed up the timeline?
Diagnose and Position resist compression — that's where the judgment happens. Draft and Sharpen can sometimes move faster with quicker feedback turnaround on your end.
What do you need from us in the first week?
Analytics access, anything reflecting the buyer's actual words (tickets, call recordings, reviews), and 45 minutes with your best stakeholder.
Do you work with our existing team, or in isolation?
Collaborative by default — a check-in at the end of Diagnose to confirm the claim, and another after the first draft.
What if the diagnosis surfaces something bigger than the original brief?
We say so explicitly before drafting, and requote if the scope genuinely changed — never quietly doing more or less than what was agreed.
Is the process different for retainers?
Diagnose, Position, Draft and Sharpen repeat monthly at a smaller scale; Report & Iterate is the standing rhythm rather than a one-time close-out.
